Corpi Liturgici
Oratorio del Carmine
Organised by Comune di Catanzaro
In the programme of the Festival d'Autunno, now in its 23rd edition under the artistic direction of Antonietta Santacroce, "Corpi Liturgici" by Compagnia Zappalà Danza will be staged at the Oratorio del Carmine, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of San Francesco. Roberto Zappalà choreographs and directs a secular and visceral liturgy in which movement becomes prayer: on stage he dialogues with Maud de la Purification, named Dancer of the Year at the Premio Danza&Danza 2023, on compositions by David Lang in resonance with the Cantico delle Creature. The dramaturgy is by Nello Calabrò. The evening opens with a multidisciplinary introduction curated by Cura d'Arte, combining words, visual art and reflection on the figure and contemporary relevance of Franciscan thought. The event is promoted by the Comune di Catanzaro.
